Intuitive Guidelines

Posted by Connie at 5:00 AM
This is a journal entry I created in September at the Creative Dig Workshop.

Monday's at Dirty Footprints Studio is Art Journal LOVE day...but I'm sorry Lovelies, I decided to take a break from the movie making/Art Journal LOVEn this week. Instead, I will share with you a little Journal LOVE.

Generally, my piles of journals contain a lot of the same thing: me trying to figure things out--me revamping my day, mostly the negative stuff, and trying to make sense--sense of my heart, my mind, my behavior, other's behavior, this world we share. Writing in my journal brings me great clarity and sense of peace most of the time. But, I started thinking before I wrote in my new purple LOVE journal last night, that I want things to be different with this one. I want it to be even a bit of an experiment. An experiment in what happens if you consciously shift the focus of your attention.

So, as I sat with a cup of green tea and the setting sun, I let my intuition take hold of my pen and what the result was a list of guidelines for me to follow in the relationship with this new journal. Here are the seven guidelines I plan to follow as I fill these upcoming pages. I encourage you to join me in this experiment as well, and if you wish, please copy, print, and paste these in your own journal.

This is another art journal entry I created at Creative Dig during September.

Creative Juicy Journal Guidelines

1. This journal contains stories I tell myself to feel good.

2. This journal contains stories I tell myself that may not be my present reality, but I tell them as if they were, so the Universe will have no mistake on what it is I want. (Did you hear that Universe?!)

3. This journal contains only words of love, kindness, tenderness, and complete, 100% support to all I do, want to do, and dare to dream. This journal does not tolerate any less.

4. This journal is not for documenting any complaining, whining, and/or negative talk. This journal once was a living, growing tree--a tree that gave it's life for you to write your Creative Juicy Life in. By tarnishing the pages with negative energy is an act of great disrespect and inconsideration to the life it once had and now gives to you. Any words of negativity in these pages will result in further negativity in your own life.

5. This journal requires your sole soul attention at least once a day. Even a few sentences a day will supply you with the necessary nutrients needed to live a happy, well balanced Creative Juicy Life.

6. Remember that each kiss of the pen made on these pages is an intimate act between you and your beloved source in this world. Allow your stories and words to unfold in front of you as your Creative Juicy Life, not as a pure means to spark conversation or fill in as a blog post.

7. Take this journal with you everywhere. You never know when you might need it.

This art journal entry was NOT made at Creative Dig..but rather in October, when I was taking a bloggy break!

I hope you will use these guidelines as part of your own journal writing....if you do post them to your blog though, please be Creative Juicy and give a reference back to Dirty Footprints Studio.

Peace & Love.

Good Morning Sunshine...
With your new purple journal- how are you preparing the pages for your painting?
I love this ode to the tree! Keeping it positive! I do believe the Universe is listening intently.
May all your dreams come true!

I LOVE this idea. I've been feeling lately that a bit more positive is what I need... and I had such a difficult weekend/week/month.

I haven't had a journal for YEARS (although I kept my NINE that I had growing up).

Perhaps I should start this is my wedding planning eco-jot journal...

:)

YAY

Synchronicity ... just last night I decided to buy an "intuition" journal, in which I would just write whatever came out of the third eye, without letting myself get in the way.

I love the reminder about the tree.

Enjoy your space.

I love your list! Thank you so much for being open enough to share that with us. You are an inspiration to me and likely to many others. The last journal entry caught my eye. I love them all but that one I love the best! Great Job!

You inspire once again Connie. I love these guidelines, of focusing on the positive and changing thinking from the "what is bad" to "what is good". I'm loving your experiment and copying the guidelines to use myself! :)

The 'romantic' me is ABSOLUTELY crazy about your line about the kiss of the pen on the page. Made me think of how a new Mom will giddily and enthusiastically pepper her freshly bathed baby with kisses on the belly, soles of feet and palms of hands, neck and shoulders and back as she lotions and dresses him/her. Beautiful!
BTW - grinning at my verification word this morning here - 'gyrical' ---what a cool one!

Connie, you've given me just what I needed today! I've really been in a "funk" lately and have been putting forth an effort to get out of it .... with small successes here and there. I believe your "guidelines" here will really help get me back on a steady, positive and "juicy" path! (And wouldn't you know? A brand new empty moleskin journal was just now delivered to my door!)

Thanks so much for all you do!

Hi Connie.
This list is awsome and shifting the way we see (and so live) our life make everything change eventually.
I began to express Gratitude (I do it everyday and on Friday I decided to sum up my week and share it with others on my blog, for what I called Gratitude friday). I encourage people to come and share with me, with us, too.
Believe it or not but focusing on tiny little positive things I lived during my week makes it even better :)
This Purple Art Journal will be the beginning of something new for you.
Thanks a lot for sharing the idea.
Hugs

Hey Connie,

I hear you on the journals sometimes being a negativity fest. Ugh, the stuff I wrote in my twenties. And it all had the same theme -- me not standing up for myself. Whatever keeps showing up anywhere in our lives is what we need to address. Figure out what that is and your journal writing will change on its own.

Hi Ms. Connie Chica, I LOVE your intuitive guidelines.

I've been a hardcore journal keeper since I was 15. Around two years ago, I purged all those old journals, boxes and boxes of journals.

What I realized is that I'm not a match to them anymore. I kept writing basically the same damn story over and over, different places and different faces, but yet the same story. The majority of my writings were focused on what wasn't working and my angst about it, so naturally, I attracted more of what I was focusing on.

I changed my ways to focusing on what I want and why I want it, the postivie aspects and what I appreciate, etc... very similar to your FABULOUS guidelines!!!

I'm so inspired and bedazzled by your art journals that I'm going to have to start my first bona fide art journal!!!
