Pass It On!

I've decided...Sunday's are about turning the computer off
...and tuning into my life completely.

Care to join me?

Click copy on my painting above and stick it on your blog
or print it out and tape it to your computer monitor!

Or simply don't waste anymore time--
just turn off the computer and jump straight into your paints!

Big hugs!

I didn't even bother to turn my computer on this morning...I ate breakfast and immediately felt the call of my studio so off I went. Five hours later I'm just now turning on my 'puter. YAY for art filled Sundays!!!
Peace & Love,
~Barb~

Whoo hoo!

Ok, I had to post the winner of my poetry giveaway today so need to leave that up, but plan on posting this gorgeous reminder soon.

AND -- I've made it the desktop background for my computer! Ironic, no? :)

As a former sufferer of an eating disorder (compulsive overeating) I am all too familiar with the food diary, and writing down how I felt before, during and after. I also had to keep a log of when and where I had whatever it was I ate. It turned out most of my bingest were at home, alone, standing around the kitchen stuffing my face or sitting in front of the tv and not even looking at what I was eating. In therapie I was challenged to eat everrrryyything from a plate at the table, no distractions like tv or reading. It helped so much!

I like the chart idea for more fruit and veg, but 15 to 20 is way too much. Don't forget fruit and veg do have natural sugars and of course calories. Not as much as a chocolate bar, but it does not mean that stuffing your face with fruit and veg (I would have salad binges, or eat 3 or 4 apples followed by bananas and grapes) is per definition a healthy thing to do. In the UK the governement advises 'five a day'. Five portions of fruit, or five portions of veg, or any combination of the two. In Holland they say '2 times fruit and 2 ounces of veg' to make sure you get more of a variety. 15 ot 20 is far far too much!

I seriously need to look at my diet again. It's so easy to just rip open a bag of potato crisps, when I know something a bit more healthy would be a far better idea. I hope the weather picks up because it's always easier for me to eat more fruit and veg during the summer..

Keep up the great work!

this is great. I started unplugging for the whole weekend quite awhile ago. Its been great, I also try to limit my time on the internet after 5ish. (whenever little one wakes up from her nap and I start supper.) She is in bed for the night and the news is on- enjoying some PPF before bed!
