Today, maybe take some time and turn off the computer. Pull out your paints, your pastels, your favorite art pencils--and create in honor of our Sister--the beautiful sea.
Turn Off the Computer--Make ART your prayer for healing of this planet.
I live in the heart of NYC but I am surrounded by water. So many forget that as they speed through the concrete jungle. My family and I love the rivers we are near; we spend a ton of time near them especially in spring and summer. But the water ...when I go to the ocean life makes sense to me. When I sit on the sand and realize how small I am in the grand scheme but how much of an impact I can have ...a positive one on sea life especially if I respect it with my whole heart...and the massive amount of history and mystery that exists in the water... I am humbled. When I am sitting on the edge of the water or riding a powerful wave on a surfboard, I remember who I am. I solidly know me. It is the same when I create ...when I write words on rocks and paint seashells. It's as though with the seashell in one hand, the paintbrush in the other and the words in mind, I step into the true home of my heart. In that moment I am peace.
I'm going to send this, turn off my computer, sit by water with my daughter and paint while we talk of dolphins and sing a little Bob Marley :)
(LOL she's currently singing Every little thing is gonna be alright)
