I received a new Moleskin sketchbook for my 37 birthday.
I also spent my birthday sitting in a hospital waiting room.
These are my sketches from that time: all done with just a simple Bic pen and a heart in surrender.
Hansel is still in the hospital. Your prayers and light would be so deeply appreciated.

Sure hope you all will be home soon. Hope the Hospital problem iron out. Keep the chin up.
Your sketches are beautiful Connie. I spent so much time in the hospital due to all of my surgeries that I eventually just packed my crayons and paper as part of my 'hospital bag.' Taping into my art while there made me feel less anxious and less worried, and I do hope it has the same affect on you. I shall stop after I post this and say a prayer for Hansel and you. ((((((big hugs))))

so sorry to read that Hansel is in the hospital ... truly, you all have been in my heart this holiday season BIG TIME. Candle being lit right now. Deep breaths in and out. Reaching across the miles to squeeze your hand and say "I love you." So very much. All of you.

My heart is with you and your family. I've spent some time in hospitals the last few years, too. I'm sorry this is how you get to start a new year and a new year of your own life. I wish you the highest possible outcome in everything. I have found your blog and your work so uplifting and inspiring since I found it about a year ago. You are pivotal in how I think about art and painting now. Just thought you'd want to know that.
